This is a very displayable fossil fish plate from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are two Diplomystus dentatus on the large, rectangular plate. The fish exhibit very fine detail. The bone structure is well preserved. The fins are nicely displayed. The eye sockets are easily seen. The natural orangish-brown color of the fish contrasts well with the cream-colored matrix. The fossils are nicely positioned on a 7.0" X 9.9" plate. This is an outstanding display specimen of these fossil herring from the Eocene.
