This is an excellent specimen of Prionolepis cataphractus from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. The fossil fish is well centered on a rectangular plate of lithographic limestone. Unlike most of the fossils from this site in Lebanon, there has been no enhancement. No color has been added to this specimen. The detail of the specimen is very fine. The bone structure is superb. This is a great specimen of an unusual fossil fish from Lebanon.
