This is a rare Green River fish. It is an Eohiodon falcatus from Wyoming. This type is called a "mooneye", and is a predatory fish. This specimen displays well, and even has the mouth open and the small teeth exposed! The fish has great color and detail, and it is nicely centered on the unbroken, squared matrix plate. This is a very fine example of this hard-to-find type of fossil fish.
