This is a very fine multiple plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fish on the left is Diplomystus dentatus. This specimen displays nice bone structure. The detail of the fins is exquisite. The fossil on the right is Knightia humilis. This specimen has good detail and preserves some of the scale pattern. Both fossil fish have good color and contrast. They are beautifully positioned on a rectangular block of shale. We like the way they are both "swimming" toward the top of the slab from two different directions. This is a very aesthetic specimen of two different fossil fish from the Green River Shale.
