Here is a nice plate of fossil fish from the Green River Shale of Wyoming. The fish on the left is Mioplosus labracoides. The fish on the right is Diplomystus dentatus. It is unusual to have both these types of fish on the same plate. Both fish are complete and have good detail. The bone structure and fins are very nice. The color and contrast are great. The fossils are well centered on a rectangular piece of matrix. There are several other impressions of fossil fish on the slab. This is a fine slab of two different fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming.
