Here is a nice fossil fish from China. This is Jianghanicthys hubeiensis from the Eocene. This fish exhibits wonderful detail. The bone structure is clearly defined and the fins are nicely displayed. Even the scale pattern of the fossil fish is easily seen. The dark brown fossil contrasts well with the gray matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate. This is a beautifully detailed example of this type of fish from China.
