This is a beautiful specimen of Priscacara serrata from the Eocene of Wyoming. This type is very sought-after because of its recognizable look - similar to a modern-day Bluegill or Crappie. The large fossil fish has natural orange color that contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fish has great bone structure and extremely fine fin detail - even the tail is fully defined. The fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of matrix that has been professionally framed for optimal display. This is simply a large, framed example of this classic fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
