This is an excellent fossil fish. It is a distinct Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fossil fish is extremely well preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is easily seen, the fins are well defined, and the tail is quite evident. This fish has nice, dark coloration and contrasts well with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well showcased on the rectangular matrix plate. This is a beautiful display example of a fossil fish from Wyoming.
