This is a very unique TRIPLE specimen of Diplomystus dentatus from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are three fossil fish on the slab - all three fish are well preserved and exhibit fine detail. The bone structures are clearly defined, and the heads and tails are easily seen. But the unusual feature of this fossil is that two fish were fossilized one on top of the other, almost forming an almost perfect "+" or ''X''. It is incredibly rare to have two fossil fish laying on top of each other perfectly like this! The fossils have excellent color and contrast and are beautifully showcased on the large, rectangular plate of shale. This is a very unique plate of three fabulous fossil fish.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
