This is an excellent example of Nematonotus longispinus from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. This striking fish is rather full-bodied and has a very long spine on the anterior portion of the dorsal fin. The colorful fish exhibits great detail and bone structure. There is also a partial fish of the same species present on the slab. Both specimens display beautifully on the squared plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a very cool specimen of an unusual fish from Lebanon.
