This is a distinct example of Mioplosus labracoides from the Eocene of Wyoming. This very large fish exhibits nice bone structure, and the orange-brown fossil contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The long fish is well displayed on the squared-edged plate of shale. And there are even three other fish preserved on the plate! This is a very large specimen (over NINE inches!) of this uncommon predatory fish from the Green River Shale.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
