This is an excellent fossil fish. It is a large Knightia from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fossil fish is extremely well preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is easily seen, the fins and tail are very defined, and the scale pattern is quite evident. This fish has nice, dark coloration and contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well showcased on the rectangular matrix plate. This is a fabulous example of a fossil fish from the Eocene.
