The eye socket is easily seen, the fins and tail are well defined, and the scale pattern is quite evident. The fish has nice, dark coloration and contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well displayed on the squared matrix plate. This is an extremely detailed example of a fossil fish from the Eocene.
