This is a distinct specimen of Lycoptera davidi from the Jurassic of China. This fossil fish has excellent detail preserved - the bone structure of the fish is clearly defined, and the large eye is easily seen. The natural, dark-brown color of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the tannish-grey matrix. The fish is well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is a very fine example of a fossil fish from the time of the dinosaurs.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
