This is a very unusual fish. It is an unidentified fossil fish from the Cretaceous of Brazil. This specimen is quite large - almost a foot long! The fish was fossilized in a concretion, which preserves detail very well.The head, body, backbone, tail, and even the scale pattern are all easily seen This specimen is very inflated and 3-dimentionally preserved. This is a very nice concretionary fossil fish from South America.
